Job summary

An opportunity has arisen for a Band 2 Housekeeper to join our Tertiary level 3 Neonatal Unit at Hull & East Yorkshire Women's & Children's Hospital.

Hull's Neonatal Service is a well-established level 3 tertiary unit within the Yorkshire Neonatal Network. Comprising of 33 cots; 7 of which are Intensive Care; 10 High Dependency, 12 Special Care and 4 Transitional Care cots providing a high quality service to the network and beyond.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated Housekeeper to join our team in the speciality of neonatal care. The successful applicant will play a vital role in supporting the delivery high quality safe and efficient care to sick and preterm newborn babies.

Good communication and teamwork are essential skills for the role with the ability to be flexible within different working environments.

Previous experience is desirable but not essential.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work as an essential part of the Neonatal Services team coordinating all Hotel Services on the Neonatal Unit and Transitional Care. Working as part of the team to ensure a clean, safe and comfortable environment is maintained.You will work closely with the Ward Manager, contractors, support services, monitoring quality standards, report deficiencies and take appropriate action. The post holder will ensure that tidiness, cleanliness and general appearance of the unit is conducive with patient care.

The main responsibilities within the role include catering responsibilities, cleaning, ordering of stores, minor maintenance of equipment and re-stocking of consumables within the clinical areas together with other specified tasks as directed by the shift team.
