Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Full Time housekeeper to work within Cedar Ward at Hull University Teaching Hospital. Cedar Ward is a diverse Gynaecology ward caring for patients admitted both electively and under emergency circumstances.
We are looking for a hard working enthusiastic individual with excellent communication and organisational skills, and who has the ability to work flexibly,prioritise workload and communicate at all levels. Housekeepersare an essential part of the ward team.
You will need to be passionate about working within a team, and have a dynamic and forward thinking approach to service improvement. A housekeepers role is to support the clinical staff by maintaining and restocking all areas of the department, ordering stock, stock rotation and liaising with other teams and services.
The successful applicant must be willing to meet the needs of the service. If you have the attributes and enthusiasm we are looking for this post could be for you. Previous hospital based experience would be an advantage.
Main duties of the job
You will work under the direction of the ward manager. You will work closely with domestic services, catering and linenservices as well as nursing and clinical support staff. You must be physically fit for moving, lifting and cleaning.
You will also be expected to maintain high standards of organisation in the department by ensuring the department is kept tidy, clinical equipment is maintained and cleanliness levels achieved by liaising with our domestic staff.
This job will include duties such as:
- Stock Control
- Filling up of stores
- Ordering of stock
- Maintaining a clean and tidy ward environment in line with Infection Control
- Undertaking Audits around the unit
- Reporting faults
Training and support can be provided.
