Job summary
We are looking for motivated individual who is ready for a new venture. The successful candidate will be joining one of our Clinical areas at HUTH.
Working as an apprentice, learning fundamental skills and studying at Hull College.
A passion for learning and development is essential as the role will require the individual to be both practical and compassionate.
No previous experience required.
Please note that this advertised vacancy does not meet the UKVI eligibility requirements for a Skilled Worker Visa and therefore HUTH would not be able to issue a Certificate of Sponsorship for this role.
Main duties of the job
Apprentice Health Care Support workers play a vital role in delivering high standards of care to patients in the hospital. Working on a busy ward, you will work closely with a multi-disciplinary nursing team to ensure all patients are cared for and treated with dignity and respect. Your duties will be varied and include
- Demonstrate what it means in practice to promote and provide person centred care treatment
- Support by obtaining valid consent, and carrying out risk assessments
- Work in partnership with the individual, their carer, families and the wider healthcare team
- Promote clinical effectiveness, safety and a good experience for the individual
- Assisting patients during meal times
- Maintenance of their personal hygiene
- Making patients comfortable
- Talking and listening to patients
- Involved in patient activities and support them to use ward facilitates such as the bathroom
