Job summary
The successful candidate will join the Orthodontic team at Castle Hill Hospital. This is a 12 month locum part-time (4 PAs) NHS Consultant post, with the potential to appoint to a substantive post. The successful candidate will join 1 part time Consultant Orthodontist and team.
Main duties of the job
This is a Locum post, offering 4 programmed activities. The successful post holder will join the existing team of 1 Consultant Orthodontist, 1 Specialist Orthodontist, 2 part time Dentists with Specialist Interest, 1 Orthodontic Therapist and one Trainee Therapist. A further trainee therapist is planned to join the team in 2023/24.
The Consultant will assume a direct clinical role within the department, sharing all facilities including secretarial, equally with the existing consultant. The post holder will professionally supervise, train and manage junior medical/dental staff including Specialist Registrars, as appropriate. Where appropriate the post holder will be named in the contracts of doctors in training grades as the person responsible for overseeing their training and as the initial source of advice to such doctors on their careers.

- Ability to offer expert orthodontic opinion on a range of problems within orthodontics
