Specialist Nurse - Enhanced Care Team

An exciting opportunity is available for experienced Band 5's or current band 6 Registered Nurses to join the Enhanced Care Team (ECT). The post holder will be based in the Safeguarding Team, working under the management of the ECT Matron and will be supporting and advising clinical areas to deliver safe care to patients with additional needs, which may include the following vulnerabilities;

Dementia/Delirium

Learning Disability

Mental Health - Adults and children

Cognitive impairment e.g. brain injury

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant requires an understanding of these vulnerable patient groups, excellent communication skills and the ability to develop close working relationships in the safeguarding team and with clinical areas and Health Group Matrons. An understanding of the Mental Capacity Act principles is essential, but further training and support will be given. Successful applicants will be required to line manage band 2 HCSW's and demonstrate a working knowledge of staffing, recruitment, management and the associated IT components.

The successful applicant requires a sound knowledge of overall nursing standards, policies and procedures to ensure the advice and support offered to clinical areas is safe and appropriate

In return you will be supported by the ECT Matron and the wider Safeguarding Team to extend your scope of practice in Safeguarding Adults, the Mental Capacity Act, the Mental Health Act and wider operational management.

Successful applications will be required to work across both Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital sites. Working hours are 7am to 8pm, Monday to Sunday, working a combination of shifts to cover service provision.
