A Band 5 vacancy for a Staff Nurse has arisen in Recovery at Castle Hill Hospital.
We would like to invite applications from practitioners to work in this busy, exciting and expanding area. Experience in Recovery and mentorship qualification are desired but not essential.
We require highly motivated, hardworking individuals, working as a highly skilled member of the multidisciplinary team. The successful applicants must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to join a proactive team. The ability to adapt well to change, participate in audits and work well as part of a well, established team is essential.
The Recovery service currently covers 4 areas - Gynae/Urology, General/Max Fax/Neuro backs/Orthopaedics, Cardiothoracic/UGI and Robotics - you will be expected to rotate through each specialty. The recovery service covers Monday to Sunday and staff will be expected to participate in the 24hour, 7 days a week on call rota. A flexible attitude to meet the needs of the service is essential.
Main duties of the job
Main duties include:
- Caring for post operative patients following surgery/anesthesia
- Tending to patient's post-operative needs
- Basic life support
- Medicine management
- Airway management
- Pain management
