Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for motivated individuals to join the midwifery team.
The Maternity Services within Hull University Teaching Hospital provides care to women in the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal period, in both the Women & Children's Hospital and the community locations in Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire.
Inpatient care is provided in 3 areas 24 hours per day 7 days per week.Labour Ward - Maternity care is provided to both low and high risk women in the antenatal, intrapartum and early postnatal period.
Rowan Ward - care is provided to women in the early postnatal period prior to transfer to the care of the community midwifery service.
Maple Ward - Care is provided for women who require admission to hospital prior to the birth as well as some postnatal care.
Outpatient care is provided in the localities by the team of community midwives and in the Women & Children's Hospital
Antenatal Clinic and Antenatal Day Unit - these services are provided from the Women & Children's hospital. There may be an opportunity to work in this setting supporting the midwifery team providing antenatal care to women with specific medical needs on an outpatient basis
Main duties of the job
We have a dynamic, motivated and forward thinking midwifery team and will welcome midwifery assistants who will work rotationally in all areas.
There are a range of skills within maternity services which enables the midwifery assistant to work in partnership with the midwives and other members of the multidisciplinary teams.
