Job summary

Applications are invited for 1 Senior Clinical Fellow Post in Anaesthesia to commence from January 2024.

The appointment is for a fixed term period of three years, after a probationary period of 6 months.

Fellowship of the Royal College of Anaesthetists, London or equivalent qualification is essential. EDAIC and FCAI are acceptable

Interested applicants must have minimum of four years anaesthetic experience of which a minimum of 12 months must be in the UK. These are non-training posts and do not have deanery approval for training.

The department at HUTH will provide educational opportunities to support the successful candidate to pursue the certificate of eligibility for specialist registration (CESR).

The successful candidate will have a named educational supervisor and will be entitled to study leave. There is potential to develop subspecialty interest and to work towards specialist registration through the CESR.

The post does not award a National Training Number. As this post is not recognised as a 'training post', full registration with the GMC with a licence to practise is required, and if an appointee does not hold right of residence in the UK, sponsorship will be required.

Main duties of the job

The duties of this post are equivalent to a senior post-fellowship specialist registrar including out of hours work in anaesthesia and intensive care with local or distant supervision.

The appointee will be based in HUTH and has opportunities to gain experience in a wide range of Anaesthetic specialties and undertake audit/QI project with the support of the department. The elective anaesthetic specialties include but are not limited to airway, head and neck, regional, obstetrics, paediatrics, Neuro, cardiac, vascular, major GI surgery, robotic surgery and plastics.
