Job summary
We are looking for a physicist to join the expanding Radiation Protection & Radiology Physics team within the Medical Physics Service based at Hull University Teaching Hospitals.
The role will principally be concerned with supportingmagnetic resonance imaging at four acute hospitals (ten MRI scanners including 3T), a number of developing Community Diagnostic Centres and mobile units.
There will also be opportunities for experience in other imaging modalities as we seek to ensure scientific support for the ever evolving field of multi-modality imaging.
Main duties of the job
Ideally, we would like an experienced MRI physicist with HCPC registration as a clinical scientist, but our department has a well established reputation for taking on talented individuals from a variety of backgrounds and developing them in-house to become national and international experts in their new field. So we encourage anyone to apply who might fulfil one of the following entry routes
- Medical physicist with HCPC clinical scientist registration with MRI experience; e.g. successfully completed (or about to complete) STP in Imaging with Non-Ionising Radiation
- Medical physicist with HCPC clinical scientist registration with experience in another medical physics subject who would like to take on the challenges of MRI imaging.
- MSc or PhD in medical physics or MRI related
- MSc or PhD in a scientific subject
- BSc in physics or similar
For (B) to (E) further training will be provided to enable you to reach the level of (A). Depending on the length of training required, the starting salary may vary from £30,034 (Annex 21 trainee) to £50,056 (top band 7).
