Job summary
We are an established practice learning facilitator team looking to recruit a new team member for a secondment opportunity.
Responsibilities of this role will be to act as a resource for staff and students requiring advice or guidance on issues relating to practice learning and any ongoing concerns. You will be a skilled collaborator and an effective cross-functional communicator.
Alongside this the successful applicant will also contribute to the development, maintenance & expansion of quality assured placements for the full range of students undertaking educational training within the health care community, in line with the Skills for Health Quality assurance requirements, the NHS Plan and the NHS Clinical Governance Framework. Contribute at a local, regional and national level to quality assurance initiatives relating to practice learning.
Influence the preparation and delivery of educational programme which impact on the quality of practice learning and student progression in clinical practice.
Main duties of the job
To be a valuable resource for staff and students requiring advice or guidance on issues relating to practice learning.
- Participate in quality monitoring process in conjunction with the education providers to ensure a quality learning experience for students
- Support the implementation of the learning and development agreement
- Promote and deliver on the strategic direction of nationally and locally driven quality assurance methodology
- Promote effective communication networks for practice learning between stakeholders.
- Promote collaboration between HEIs, NHS and non NHS organisations within the healthcare community to develop and enhance the quality of practice learning for all students.
- Support practice learning within a multi-professional environment.
- Support the development of new and existing placements across the healthcare community by working closely with all key stakeholders involved in the delivery of education within the practice setting.
- Increase the capacity of quality learning opportunities for students within the community and primary care setting
- Work with partners to ensure the number of practice supervisors/ assessors across the healthcare community is sufficient to support the number of students requiring practice learning opportunities.
- Continue ongoing support of practice supervisors/assessors to maintain and increase the availability of high quality placements for all students
- Support the development and implementation of new models of placement learning
