Job summary
To work as part of the Molecular Imaging Research Centre (MIRC) team, providing high standards to support patient care and an efficient service in the area as required. To perform routine cyclotron/radiopharmacy duties such as cleaning and monitoring of equipment and environment, stock control and record keeping.
Main duties of the job
The aseptic services support role forms part of the Molecular Imaging Research Centre (MIRC) department at Castle Hill Hospital and the wider Nuclear Medicine team at both Castle Hill Hospital and Hull Royal Infirmary.
The service will produce SPECT and PET radiopharmaceuticals for administration to patients to allow diagnostic scanning.
Radiopharmaceuticals will be produced in the MIRC - which includes a purpose built radiopharmacy and cyclotron. The MIRC is opening in 2023. PET/CT on the Castle Hill site is run by Alliance Medical (AML). The diagnostic service includes a wide range of in-vivo and in-vitro procedures supporting pathways across many disciplines including oncology, cardiology, endocrinology and orthopaedics.
