Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Surgery Health Group at Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust for a Quality and Safety manager for the SHG.
An opportunity has arisen for a Quality and Safety Manager to join the existing team within the Surgery Health Group. The Quality and Safety Manager will be responsible for managing the governance agenda for the HG and managing the quality and complaints personal within the HG. The role involves monitoringincidents, overseeing DoC compliance, risk management, ensuring that Serious Incidents, Never Events and complaints are managed within the required timeframes and assisting in the delivery of outcomes in order to eliminate patient harm. The Quality and Safety Manager will also be pivotal in the delivery of the key objectives within the Health Group.
The role will incorporate the promotion of a positive learning environment where changes are implemented to improve patient safety and quality.
The successful applicant will have demonstrable ability to manage a complex workload across a large Health Group, and also knowledge of, and a proven track record in incident management, delivery of solutions to manage risk and patient safety, and working knowledge of risk management tools, principles and techniques.

Main duties of the job
The role will support the Team to oversee all aspects of incident and risk management, support the Clinical Governance meetings across the division with the SHG, write the quality reports to support the Nurse Director for the SHG, manage all aspects of the complaints process for the Health group and line manage the Quality facilitator and project manger (Complaints) within the HG.
Facilitate and support the delivery of improvement work related to compliance and effectiveness work streams whilst also helping to embed a culture of shared learning, collaborative working and continuous improvement across the Trust.
