Job summary
We are seeking a self-motivated, proactive and knowledgeable Deputy System Technical Specialist to join our Clinical Governance team at Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.
In this pivotal role, you will act as a subject matter expert for the configuration, optimisation, and reporting functions of the Ulysses system, providing informed advice and support to staff at all levels.
The postholder will be required to work both independently and collaboratively, supporting the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of Ulysses systems and processes across the Trust, while also assisting with their operational management.
Working closely with the Systems Technical Specialist, the postholder will contribute to system configuration improvements, ensuring the system continues to meet the needs of the organisation and provides a positive experience for staff.
A good understanding of incident and risk management procedures and practices is required, underpinned by relevant knowledge and practical experience. The postholder will support the delivery of incident management processes, LFPSE reporting, Duty of Candour requirements, and the management of national safety alerts.
Main duties of the job
In this role, the postholder will provide expert advice, technical training, and support to staff at all levels, including multi-disciplinary teams, senior managers, and governance leads, in all aspects of the Ulysses system.
- Drive system configuration improvements to ensure the platform continues to meet organisational needs and delivers a positive user experience, engaging with end users and collaborating with Ulysses developers as required.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of incident and risk management procedures, underpinned by substantial knowledge and practical experience.
- Lead and support the delivery of incident management processes, LFPSE reporting, Duty of Candour requirements, and the management of national safety alerts.
- Exercise discretion and independent judgement in configuring modules, resolving incidents, and providing specialist advice, escalating only complex or high-risk issues to the Systems Technical Specialist.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of local policies and standard operating procedures relating to system use, data quality, and incident management, and lead on testing and implementation of national safety reporting changes.
- Plan and manage workstreams for Trust-wide Ulysses updates, upgrades, and module rollouts, coordinating with multiple departments to ensure continuity of service.
