We are seeking to appoint 2 dynamic registered nurses to SFEDS (Specialist Family Eating Disorder Service).
SFEDS treats families/carers and young people aged 10-18 with Atypical Anorexia Nervosa, Anorexia Nervosa or Bulimia Nervosa through evidenced based interventions, ie Maudsley Family Therapy models and E-CBT. We pride ourselves on delivering high quality evidenced based treatment in accordance with NICE Guidelines and National Access and Waiting Times Standards
Our team provides treatment across Sussex, the postholder will need to travel across sites according to service need.
The service consists of; Family and Systemic Psychotherapists, Consultant Psychiatrist, Paediatrician, Clinical Psychology, Assistant Psychology, Nurses, Dietitian and Occupational Therapy.
You will support systemic thinking and nursing practice within the team, have the opportunity to undertake audits, offer clinical supervision to junior nursing colleagues and students, lead quality improvement, service development and research.
You will work in duty & triage, undertake assessments, act as Lead Practitioner, provide NICE recommended treatment to families/YP, manage risk, review efficacy of treatment and respond to/escalate accordingly (this includes mental and physical health), organise and chair meetings, support transitions in to Tier 4 care and back to the community, liaise and communicate effectively with services and staff internally and externally to SPFT.
Main duties of the job
To provide a qualified, high quality specialist nursing service to individuals, carers, families and groups, within and across teams, in line with best evidence-based practice and Trust care pathways.
To be responsible for holding and managing a clinical caseload and to exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the planning and prioritising of own workload and the assessment, treatment and discharge of clients, within the bounds of the service operational policy.
Be responsible for making clinical management decisions in complex clinical issues.
To clinically supervise junior nursing colleagues, nursing students and other staff as appropriate.
To professionally supervise and, when appropriate, manage junior nursing colleagues, nursing students and other staff as appropriate.
To complete assessments of those referred to the service and outcome this in a timely manner in line with Code of Conduct.
To provide consultation, mentorship, supervision and advice about clinical nursing issues to other members of the team/service and other professionals working with service users across a range of agencies/settings as appropriate.
To work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for the systemic governance of nursing practice within the team.

Support junior nursing colleagues as well as senior nursing colleagues in the team.
Undertake shifts in Duty and Triage, oversight of the Physical Health Clinics.
Manage own caseload of complex cases, this will involve attending meeting relating to their care and treatment, this may require organisation of the meeting, chairing the meeting and overseeing the completion of actions from the meeting.
Liaising with internal and external agencies involved in the care and treatment of the CYP.
Please note; Training in FT-AN will be provided if the post holder does not already possess this.
We support hybrid and flexible working.
Staff are required staff to be on site 60% of their working week.
