Mental Health Wellbeing Practitioners (MHWP) are a new and exciting development in the NHS psychological workforce. Have you recently completed the PG Cert or Cert Grad to become a Mental Health Wellbeing Practitioner? Or are you currently undertaking the year long MHWP training? We are looking to employ a passionate Mental Health Wellbeing Practitioner within our vibrant and dedicated service at the Eastbourne Neighbourhood Mental health Team (NMHT). You will work with a diverse group of professionals committed to providing evidence based care and high quality treatments to those with severe and complex mental health needs.

Main duties of the job
What you'll do:
- Provide clients with low intensity psychological interventions aligned to cognitive-behavioural principles, including: behavioural activation; graded exposure; teaching problem solving skills; recognising and managing emotions; improving sleep; self help for bulimia and binge eating; building confidence
- Assess the client's suitability for these interventions
- Risk assess and to plan care collaboratively with service users
- Set collaborative goals for intervention with service users
- Implement pre and post outcome measures with service use
- Form professional relationships and relate to service users in a way that respects their views, autonomy and culture
- Engage calmly and with sensitivity and empathy to support service users in highly distressing or emotional circumstances
- Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills
- When appropriate, take on the role of key worker for the client when work is being completed
- Regularly attend clinical supervision with a qualified psychology professional
- Work alongside service users, families, carers and multi-disciplinary team members to co-ordinate care, supporting collaborative decision-making about care and treatment.
- Exercise good personal time management, punctuality, reliable attendance and good organisational skills
