Out of Hours - Senior Nurse Practitioner (night shifts only)
Are you ready to use your leadership and assessment skills to support and manage across Worthing acute and urgent care settings? This will involve conducting front line assessments as well as supporting development, leading teams and taking responsibility for responding to complaints and report writing.
We are looking for a professional senior or experienced nurse to join our friendly team. The post provides overnight management to the inpatient wards/Hospital Based Place of Safety at Meadowfield Hospital including the onsite Haven, which is an up to 23-hour assessment unit. You will be required to support with assessments and reviews when needed including supporting staff breaks and providing supervision where required. You will also occasionally provide support for the Psychiatric Liaison Team at Worthing General Hospital plus overnight cover for Worthing Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team. The latter is not currently a 24-hour service, the role will involve taking referrals overnight when needed. There will also be rare times when you are expected to provide telephone support to colleagues in Chichester.
Main duties of the job
- Possess excellent risk management skills and be confident in supporting others to manage risk.
- Have experience on leading the management of care for patients with challenging and complex presentations.
- Be able to demonstrate personal resilience and skills in supporting colleagues to manage challenging situations.
- Have confidence and drive to support colleagues in managing complex changes in order to meet service expectations and needs.
- Provide line management and supervision to junior colleagues.
- Have a helpful disposition and desire to forge positive relationships with colleagues within Urgent Care and partner organisations.
- Be proactive in terms of role development in the context of an ever changing and developing service.
- Demonstrate commitment to support change processes which will at times require balancing challenges to the team to benefit high standards of good patient care.
