Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed Band 3 Occupational Therapy Support Worker to work as part of our acute mental health, inpatient occupational therapy team at Mill View Hospital, in the vibrant city of Brighton and Hove.
You will be based on Falmer (mixed gender) acute ward, working alongside a qualified occupational therapist to provide occupational therapy assessment and a range of 1:1 and group interventions to working age adults with mental health needs. You will provide a range of occupational therapy, evidence informed interventions.
We welcome candidates with effective communication and organisation skills, a compassionate, person-centred approach, able to demonstrate confidence and self-awareness and above all a caring attitude and desire to make a difference. You will need to possess effective time management and problem solving skills.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for designing, planning and delivering a range of therapeutic groups and individual activities to support recovery and enable service users to maintain and develop their daily living skills and develop self management skills. You will be involved in assessing, evaluating and reporting on patient responses to prescribed therapeutic Programmes from an Occupational Therapist.
There will be some evening (up to 8pm) and weekend working requirements.
