Are you passionate about supporting the mental health and wellbeing of veterans?
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Assistant Psychologist to join our multidisciplinary team in the Veterans' Mental Health and Wellbeing Service.
You will play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality psychologically informed care to former members of the UK Armed Forces experiencing mental health difficulties.
The service is based at Crawley Hospital and serves the counties of Sussex, Surrey and Kent. Travel to Kent and Surrey will be required on occasion as part of this role.
The successful applicant will have a relevant psychology degree and experience of working with databases, spreadsheets and using advanced IT skills in evaluation audit and research. They will also have excellent interpersonal skills, experience of team working and be highly motivated.
You will work in partnership with a diverse team of clinicians and support staff including nurses, assistant psychologists, psychologists, psychiatrists, peer support workers and our third sector partners.
We are passionate about involving people, family and friends in care and we welcome candidates with experience of co-production.
Main duties of the job
As an assistant psychologist your primary goal will be to offer psychologically informed individual and group interventions, as well as being involved in the assessment process.
You will also work alongside other multi-disciplinary professions to support with risk assessment and wider team functions. There will be quality improvement and audit opportunities.
Op Courage has an active research group and there will be opportunities to be part of current research projects.
As part of your role, you will receive regular clinical and managerial supervision with a HCPC registered psychologist.

Essential
- Honours degree at 2:2 or above in Psychology, or equivalent. Eligible for Graduate Basis for Chartership with the BPS
