The closing date is 22 September 2025

Job summary

Regency Ward is a 19 bedded Male Acute ward and there are currently 5 wards and a place of safety at the hospital.

If you would like an informal chat or to arrange a shadow day where you can see some of the excellent work we already do, get in touch with the ward manager (details below).

We have opportunities for Staff Nurses, both newly qualified, and for those with experience who are looking to further their professional development, and are looking for a new challenge. For Newly Qualified Nurses, ourPreceptorship Academywill help to give you the very best start in your transition from Student to Registered Nurse.

Our shared values within the team at Mill View are important to us, we are one hospital, not individual areas and wards that work in isolation. We look after each other and support each other when it's needed, particularly during the hard times. Your voice and your concerns are important to the leadership team and we encourage you to talk about areas of concern and empower you to implement positive changes.

Our hospital vision statement and commitment is"to listen and to look after each other whilst creating a safe space for everyone. Let's be brave, curious and creative together and be proud of what we can achieve'

Main duties of the job

Working within a supportive clinically led team, you will have the opportunity to really work in partnership with patients - engaging, supporting and developing a relationship which really enables the recovery process. With a real commitment to improving care delivery, as part of our team you will be supporting quality improvements and initiatives that will enhance the patient experience.

Our vision is to provide outstanding care and treatment you can be confident in. To achieve the highest standards we have already embarked on a programme to transform the culture of the Trust to one of continuous improvement, delivered through participation of all staff and with service users, carers and families at the heart of our efforts.

About us

We're a large NHS Mental Health Trust in South East England. We're looking for people to help us provide high quality services for the patients, carers and local communities we serve.

We would like to create an environment where service users, nurses, nurse associates, nursing assistants and carers are all leaders and actively involved in making decisions about our services.

We'd love you to join our organisation that is rated 'good' overall and 'outstanding' for caring by the Care Quality Commission. Our staff agree, with 82% of people in our recent staff survey telling us that they recognise that care for patients is our top priority.

We encourage flexible working. We know that a positive work/ life balance brings about huge health-related benefits, which has a positive impact on the care we provide. Please speak to us about flexible working, for example, home-working, part time hours, flexible start/ finish times or anything else. If it works for you and works for the role, we'll do our best to make it happen.
