This exciting opportunity is based across two secure wards at the Hellingly Centre - 0.5 WTE on Oak Ward and 0.5 WTE on Blossom Ward - offering a diverse and rewarding clinical leadership role within a specialist forensic setting. Both wards have Consultant Forensic Psychiatrists.

As part of the Ward Team, you'll work collaboratively with the leadership team and service managers to ensure the most efficient and effective use of resources.
Working within a secure and forensic environment, our focus is on delivering high-quality, person-centred care and facilitating meaningful rehabilitation for individuals with complex mental health needs, often under the Mental Health Act.
Main duties of the job
You will provide consultant-level clinical leadership within secure forensic service, part of Specialist Division at SPFT. You will have a caseload as Responsible Clinician for patients under the Mental Health Act. Day-to-day duties include inpatient care (mental and physical health) of the patients, leading MDT meetings, ward rounds, risk assessment and management; delivering evidence-based interventions; overseeing clinical standards and governance; and providing supervision to nurses and other professionals. You will contribute to service development, training, audit, and research, while working closely with senior leaders to shape strategic priorities. The role balances autonomy with collaboration, ensuring safe, person-centred care that promotes recovery in a secure environment.
