Job summary

We are seeking an exceptional pharmacist with a passion for mental health to join our pharmacy team at Swandean, Worthing as part of a job share. You will be a confident, motivated individual who will work closely with other health care professionals within the organisation to deliver a responsive and pro-active people focused service to continuously improve clinical pharmacy delivery within mental health.

Main duties of the job

This role will lead the clinical pharmacy service across the Dementia and Older Person Inpatient Services ensuring the highest clinical pharmacy standards are achieved including medicines use and safety.

Summary of the four main pillars of practice:

Expert clinical practice. As an expert in clinical practice, the post holder will be responsible for the provision of clinical services to mental health care settings and provide pharmaceutical input including highly complex cases and high-risk medicines.

Management and leadership. As a senior member of the pharmacy team, the role will be an effective leader by demonstrating excellent management, communication and relationship skills.

Education and Training. The role will be required to share their expert knowledge across a range of disciplines and through multi modal training opportunities, teams will be equipped with the required skills and knowledge to deliver high quality and safe patient care in all their activities that relate to medicines.

Research and Development. The role will be required to undertake research and development activities that are aligned to the progressive medicines optimisation strategy and to undertake audit as part of a robust assurance programme for the safe and secure management of medicines, patient experience and patient safety.
