Job summary

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic, hard-working Band 4 Assistant Psychologist to join our developing Neurodevelopmental Service in West Sussex. This is a substantive post for 5 days per week (1 wte). It is based in the North CAMHS team, but has responsibilities across West Sussex and travel is required. Responsibilities include providing support, co-ordination and case preparation for the ASC and ADHD screening and assessment clinics, conducting service evaluation, audit projects and undertaking tasks to enhance the use of routine outcome measures.

This vacancy may close early due to high numbers of applciations.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be part of a strong multidisciplinary team and will receive high standards of supervision from an HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist in order to develop an understanding of key aspects of the profession. The successful candidate needs to have excellent IT skills, be proficient in the use of Excel and PowerPoint and have good audit and evaluation skills. Knowledge of Autism and ADHD would be beneficial, but is not essential.

The successful candidate will also be part of a wider West Sussex Psychology team contributing to our innovation and commitment to ongoing service improvement and compassionate care. Whilst direct clinical work is not part of the post, there will be an opportunity to support colleagues in developing shared formulations, care plans and risk assessments for young people and their families.

  • Honours degree at 2:2 or above in Psychology, or equivalent. Eligible for Graduate Basis for Chartership with the BPS
  • Relevant clinical and research skills
  • Experience of working as part of a team
  • Basic knowledge of databases, research skills and methodology
  • Ability to apply existing psychological knowledge to a health context
  • An understanding of psychology applied to health care

  • Experience and/or knowledge of children presenting with Neurodivergence
