Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated Rapid Response Service Manager for our Single Point of Access (SPOC) team. The SPOC team is a critical component of our mental health services, designed to improve outcomes for individuals in crisis by providing timely and effective interventions. Our service operates 24/7, offering clinical advice and support to emergency services and other system partners and coordinating care to ensure the best possible outcomes for those in need.

Main duties of the job

  • Oversee the daily operations of the SPOC and Rapid Response teams, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care.
  • Provide operational leadership and support to SPOC and Rapid Response practitioners, fostering a collaborative and efficient working environment.
  • Develop and implement operational guidelines and protocols to maintain consistency and transparency in service delivery.
  • Work closely with system partners, including emergency services and mental health teams, to ensure integrated care and optimal patient flow.
  • Monitor and evaluate service performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and procedures for adults and children.
  • Provide ongoing training, supervision, and professional development opportunities for staff.
  • Participate in governance activities, including incident reporting, complaints management, and service evaluations.

  • Registered Nurse, Social Work England or HCPC registered professional with a current registration appropriate to the job role.
  • Educated to Degree/diploma level with a relevant qualification.
  • Clinical/post graduate management qualification or equivalent level of experience and proven ability to perform at this level
  • Extensive experience of and demonstrable achievement in managing health/social care services.
  • Management of resources and good track record with change management, efficiency savings and financial recovery plans.
  • Experience of modernising services without additional resources.
  • Experience of developing and maintaining effective partnerships with stakeholders in the redesign of services.
  • Experience of managing a diverse practitioner team (multi-site).
  • Measurable track record in involving and motivating staff to improve performance. Knowledge of the key drivers behind the Blue Light Policy.
  • Ability to provide and receive highly complex, highly sensitive and emotive information with staff, service users, carers and other stakeholders
  • Ability to present information clearly in an empathetic and reassuring manner
