An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our B5 mixed OT rotation in the Chichester/Bognor area. These posts are open to new graduates, those due to qualify soon, Occupational Therapists wishing to return to practice and more experienced Occupational Therapists who want to broaden their clinical skills in a variety of specialities.
We are looking for highly motivated applicants with excellent communication skills and a drive for clinical excellence. The rotation facilitates the development of skills and competencies beyond graduate level in a variety of clinical specialties, both physical and mental health. These include:
Chichester Community Therapy Team
Don Baines Intermediate Care Unit, Bognor Regis
Working Age Mental Health Services - Enhanced Community Rehabilitation Service Recovery Rehab Unit - Connolly House, Chichester Forensic Healthcare Services, Low secure inpatient service at The Chichester Centre,
Each rotation lasts six months. The rotational scheme works in partnership with Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust.
Main duties of the job
You will be part of an established MDT preceptorship programme, have a personalised development plan, detailed clinical competencies, regular supervision and a diverse range of AHP and Occupational Therapy specific training and CPD opportunities to develop your occupational therapy knowledge and skills. Our rotations offer great peer support with regular CPD/Peer support events. We understand the transition from student to practitioner and are well set up to support you in your new occupational therapy career.
To manage a caseload of up to 17 patients on Pine Ward (under the supervision of senior colleagues). This will include undertaking assessment, treatment planning and delivering therapeutic interventions both on the ward, across the service and in the community.
About us
The Chichester Centre is a low secure inpatient service providing care and treatment for men and women across three wards. There are two male wards and one female ward. It is located close to St Richard's general hospital in College Lane, Chichester.
As well as in-patient work, emphasis is placed on development of social inclusion opportunities - including links with local College, Chichester Festival Theatre, Graylingwell Development Trust , volunteer and leisure organisations.
The post holder will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of groups as well as developing skill base in the use of standardised assessments
