Job summary

We are looking for a committed individual to work in a very important role as part of the Facilities team in West Sussex preparing and serving food to patients in a busy in -patient unit based in Horsham as well as working as a team with a range of cleaning responsibilities. Your duties will be to serve meals and prepare snacks for our patients and you will need to be presentable and have good customer service skills. You should have good communication skills, a flexible attitude, be friendly and caring, able to work a shift pattern. Full induction and training will be offered for support and an opportunity to gain nationally recognised qualifications in cleaning and catering will be available.

Main duties of the job

Facilities AssistantThe post holder will be required to work as part of the Facilities cleaning and catering team meeting the NHS National Specifications for Cleanliness, and Environmental Health standards.They will be responsible for cleaning all clinical/non clinical areas and wards along with providing a quality food service to patients. The post involves working Saturday and Sunday shifts 10.30 am -18.30 pm each week. Duties include cleaning all kitchen areas, bedrooms, washing up, regenerating prepared meals, and cold food preparation. Assisting with the compliance of food safety policies, NHS cleaning procedures and current legislation.Previous experience would be an advantage, however full training will be provided.
