Main duties of the job

The Neurodevelopmental Service (NDS) is looking for a part time Team Administrator. As a Team Administrator, you should have strong organisational and communication skills and be able to work closely and collaboratively with clinicians and managers and strive for high quality standards both personally and for the service. You will be responsible for sending out routine correspondence to patients, managing queries, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with tasks being undertaken by the Neurodevelopmental admin team. About us

The NDS is a specialist clinical diagnostic assessment and consultation service for adults living in Brighton and Hove, East Sussex and West Sussex with a suspected diagnosis of ASC, ADHD, Tourette's syndrome and Tic disorder. The service is delivered by Senior Nurse Practitioners, Occupational Therapists, Consultant Psychiatrists, Neuropsychiatrists and Psychologists .

  • To provide an efficient and comprehensive secretarial/ administrative service to the team .
  • To include audio/copy typing of clinical reports, manuscripts and other correspondence.
  • Draft letters and emails as appropriate.
  • Printing, scanning and post duties.
  • Contact with service users and their families, doctors, other health professionals and the general public on the telephone and via email.
  • To manage diaries, and book in patient appointments.
  • To update and maintain accurate records on data entry systems.
  • To be proactive in organising and prioritising workload, managing own time effectively, highlighting problems as they arise and proposing possible solutions within available resources.

Successful candidates will have an NVQ 3/RSA 3 qualification or demonstrable experience within this field and have a genuine interest in developing a career within mental health services, specifically the Neurodevelopmental Service.
