Job summary

We are recruiting for a Band 6 Systems Specialist IT Engineer role.

We are embarking on two exciting Digital projects within the Trust and are looking for someone to join our team on an 18 month fixed term contract, to work alongside our exiting team to deliver our Core Services and assist with the move to M365 and a new EPR (Electronic Patient Record) during this exciting time.We would love to hear from you if you are passionate about making a difference, enjoy a challenge, and would like to use your knowledge, skills and experience to improve what we do and ultimately the service we provide to our service users and carers.

Main duties of the job

To provide 3rd line Technical Support facility for all Trust Digital users keeping the users and other Digital staff fully informed of the progress of calls that they have raised with the Help Desk.

Maintaining clear, high quality records on actions undertaken in support of resolving user incidents.

The trust primarily uses Windows 10 and Office 2019 currently but will move to M365 and Azure over the next 24 months . This role will be key in the migration of existing data and systems to the new cloud based environments as well as responding to tickets raised about existing systems and participating in other projects involving the Digital team.

Ideally we would be looking for someone who has previous NHS IT, Microsoft 365 or local government experience.

The Digital Team is a welcoming, friendly Team, based over many sites.We are made up of four Portfolio's - Clinical Systems, Patient Facing, Business Intelligence and Support Services along with a Technical Delivery Unit and a Project Management Office.We have an 'Entertainment and Activities' (EAT), Team that organise social events, both face to face and virtual.

  • Additional professional technical qualification in a relevant area e.g. Networks, Servers, AD, CCNE, CCNA or significant and extensive relevant experience

Knowledge/Experience

Essential

  • Significant experience working in a 2nd/3rd line IT Support function managing and supporting a complex multi-site IT Infrastructure
  • Significant experience in a technical area of relevance to the post holders area of work (IT Systems) including Server 2016, Active Directory, Exchange, Skype, Teams, M365
  • Significant experience working as a 2nd or 3rd Line Support Engineer

  • Required to communicate and liaise with other staff members both within the Digital team and across the Trust
  • The post holder will be required to test and document new software requirements and solutions to identified issues
  • Able to make decisions based on professional experience and fact based analysis
  • Participation in regular operational and project review meetings and delivering "top-down" and "bottom-up" updates.
