Primary Care Mental Health Practitioner Team Lead - Incentives apply
This job is now closed
Job summary
A rare opportunity has arisen in Brighton & Hove Wellbeing Service in our Primary Care Mental Health Practitioner (PCMHP) Team, as a Team Lead.
Brighton & Hove Wellbeing Service is an NHS Talking Therapies (NHS TT) primary care mental health service that serves the people of Brighton and Hove, often who are making their first contact with mental health services. The PCMHP's within B&H Wellbeing provide a critical function in triaging referrals into the service (including our priority referral pathway), providing thorough assessments, brief non-IAPT interventions including groupwork, and onward referrals as required. Liaison with key stakeholders and third sector organisations also forms part of this role.
This post offers the Trust's £4000 Incentive for band 5-7 Nurses (pro rata applies and subject to terms and conditions).
Main duties of the job
It is essential that you are a registered mental health professional or equivalent (see job description). Main duties include providing professional leadership to Primary Care Mental Health Practitioners (PCMHP), delivering regular clinical supervision to ensure that excellent standards of practice are maintained, and being responsible for the management of the PCMHP team - including managing staff, appraisals, local and formal responses to complaints, and allocation of resources in accordance with needs on a day-today basis.
The successful applicant should have excellent clinical skills in assessment, risk assessment as well as strong communication and leadership skills. You will be working closely with other professional groups within the team, in particular your PCMHP Team Lead colleagues and the Talking Therapies staff team. Providing advice and support to your colleagues is therefore an integral part of this role. The ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, such as GPs, secondary mental health services and non-statutory organisations is vital, as is a motivation to be involved in community transformation workstreams and the integration of local services. The post holder will also contribute to broader Service and Trust developments in relation to our triage team, local triage hubs and PCMHP role developments in Sussex.
