Senior Clinical Practitioner - COASTAL STREET TRIAGE
The Street Triage Service is a collaborative mental health service working with Sussex Police. We cover the Coastal West area of West Sussex. Our mental health experience and knowledge assists and advises both Police and Ambulance Practitioners in dealing with Mental Health reports which are received by both services. Our aim is to continue the work in reducing the use of Section 136 detentions and manage situations by signposting and referring to secondary and third sector services where appropriate. This is both a very challenging and rewarding job, which requires the ability to adapt and respond quickly and safely utilising your experience and knowledge base.
Street Triage currently runs a 11am - 11pm 7 day a week service. Practitioners are based in either Chichester, Worthing or Bognor working 12hr shifts. Successful candidates will be expected to be able to fulfil these shifts and work from either base flexibly. Practitioners are based in Sussex Police Response Teams and will be subject to both DBS and Police vetting.
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Registered Mental Health Nurse or Mental Heath Social Worker with at least 5 years post qualifying experience of working in acute and urgent care MH services to join our Team.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide specialist assessments and clinical interventions to patients within a care group; participate in review of clinical policies and guidelines relevant to the area and support and implement changes to practice; liaise with other organisations and professionals to promote communication and good practice; attend meetings relevant to the role; be able to undertake audit activity and supervision to other staff in Urgent Care service area/care group. Have an understanding of psychosocial interventions to include psycho-education, wellness recovery action plans and discharge planning.
