Main duties of the job

Participation is an exciting role in the Trust. Enabling the service and those who access it to enter into dialogue and work in partnership to review, design and produce services together calls; requiring creativity and an ability to work independently, by the successful candidate.

The role is varied and dynamic, from identifying and supporting young people to take part in recruitment processes and facilitating group work to engaging with senior management regarding direction and service development.

Listening to and working with people who access the service to create change for the better is hugely rewarding and you will see the results first hand.

You will be part of a strong multidisciplinary team, receiving high standards of supervision.

Our services build on our CYP-IAPT learning and 'deliver with and deliver well' and we have built the infrastructure to sustain this with our collaborative work with our service users who help shape our transformation with their lived experience. Our psychology and intern infrastructure support the meaningful use of the service wide outcome measures framework.

About us

Direct work with young people and advocating on their behalf in the Trust structure are keystones of the role. Participation work in Sussex has won awards and regularly leads the way in innovative practice. e.g. young person friendly leaflets and websites, young person led information and training films, co-produced decision making tools for use in sessions, access to creative resources in therapy rooms and production of art work for bases. The work is well supported via both the leadership in Sussex CAMHS as well as a monthly steering group and the Trust People Participation Team which you will attend as your professional group.

Do you want a career in a trust with a 2020 vision of achieving outstanding care and treatment you can be confident in? With a vision that includes becoming the employer of choice? Where our values guide how we do this?

As one of the largest providers of children and young people's mental health, our Care Delivery Service (CDS) provides care across Sussex and Hampshire. Supported by our Clinical Academic Group (CAG) we work to put research, innovation and learning into practice.

Our offer is for a career not just a job, in a team and a trust committed to delivering the best care possible to the community whilst being committed to the wellbeing of its staff - and endeavouring to show this by how we do, what we do - that our staff are our greatest asset and that staff wellbeing is a key priority."
