Job summary

The Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team are seeking to appoint a Senior Social Work Practitioner. This newly created post will offer the successful candidate an opportunity to become part of a dynamic and fast paced service. As a Lead Social Worker within our service you will be working as part of a Multi-disciplinary team (MDT) including social workers, psychologists, nurses, occupational therapists and medics. You will work with people with individuals experiencing a mental health crisis, providing specialist interventions specific to your knowledge base and experience as a social worker with a team caseload of clients.

You will be able to use your specialist knowledge and experience to support staff through consultations and provide supervision to other members of the team.

You will also be working as a member of the Leadership Team and where your expertise, knowledge and ideas will be valued.

Main duties of the job

To be responsible and provide effective leadership as a part of a leadership team. To provide specialist social work knowledge and guidance for a clinical team providing a high quality service within the resources available within a defined area, and specifically to deliver on the following key areas: Where required, take the role of practice educator for social work students and the role of ASYE assessor and supervisor for newly qualified social workers in the team. To be a key link with local authority partners and Assessment and Treatment Services/nurturing and maintain good relationships to ensure the best outcomes for service users. To engage with the social work professional network in SPFT: attending forums and supporting professional supervision and CPD for social workers within this setting. To keep up to date with current regional and national social work-related developments and share these with the team as appropriate
