Job summary
We are seeking to recruit an experienced and creative Consultant Clinical Psychologist to lead on an exciting new joint collaboration between health and social care in East Sussex. You will be a founding member of a small Clinical Multi-Disciplinary Team (CL-MDT) supporting the work of the Connected Families (CF) Coaching Team. Located within SWIFT Specialist Family Services, the focus of the Coaching Team is to provide timey, targeted and effective interventions that support the number of young people on the horizon of care to remain (or return to live) safely within the care of their families.
The aim of the Cl-MDT is to complement existing multiagency resources and bridge the current gaps in provision for young people and their families. You will work closely with an Advanced Social Work Practitioner, Occupational Therapist and Systemic Psychotherapist, and alongside those who have established relationships with the young people and their families. You will support the CF Coaching Team and the wider network of professionals to assess, formulate, plan and deliver interventions to stabilise, reduce risk, support recovery and resilience building and enhance relationships.
Interviews are planned for the 15th January
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for leading on the development and delivery of the Cl-MDT provision. You will work closely with the Operational Manager for the CF Coaching Team to support the development of policy and services that are both clinically informed and support the development of cross agency pathways.
You will contribute to the Cl-MDT directly, providing direct and indirect psychological work, and taking a lead on the model of clinical formulation. This is to ensure that the identification and assessment of unmet need is clear, and that strategies for appropriate provision are identified and supported.
You will also provide professional leadership and be responsible for the psychologists within the wider SWIFT Child Services (Children's Assessment Team (CAT) and Youth Offending Services (YOS). This will include, yet not limited to, holding the responsibility for recruitment and CPD of the psychologists within SWIFT child services and the systemic governance of psychological practice.
The post is at band 8C and 0.8 wte.
About us
You will be employed to work as part of SWIFT Specialist Family Services (SWIFT), a well-established integrated multi-agency service between East Sussex Children's Services and Sussex Partnership Foundation NHS Trust. SWIFT is led by the local authority, who will have oversight of the direction and performance of the CF Cl-MDT.
As a heath practitioner you will be employed by Sussex Partnership Foundation NHS Trust and integrated into the existing training, development and governance arrangements for CAMHS posts within SWIFT.
