Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Medical Devices and Decontamination Lead.

Sussex Partnership Foundation Trust is looking for a dynamic, proactive and enthusiastic candidate to join our Governance team. The Medical Devices and Decontamination Lead will be required to ensure there are safe and effective systems and processes for the management of medical devices across the Trust, including the decontamination of equipment; driving developments and improvements, whilst also ensuring any required cost improvement plans are implemented.

Working closely with the Trust Health and Safety Team, Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Team, Estates, Trust Resuscitation Service, Specialist Contractors and Suppliers, Operational services and colleagues in the Clinical Governance Team, the post holder will provide expertise, advice and support regarding medical device management, decontamination, safety and training.

Main duties of the job

In addition to the above, the role of the Medical Devices and Decontamination Lead will be responsible for -

  • Liaising with Senior Management, Corporate Teams and Clinical Services on all aspects of medical device management is order to ensure evidence of compliance and internal and external assurance.
  • Supporting the Head of Health and Safety, Health and Safety Manager and Health and Safety Advisor in the provision of training on risk assessment and risk management processes for all medical devices in collaboration with the Trust Physical healthcare, IPC Leads and colleagues in Estates and Operational Services
  • Being a key resource for all Trust teams in order to deliver on key service objectives relating to asset management, specific projects and developments relevant to Medical Devices.

The role will be based in Worthing but will require travel to all Trust sites as and when required.
