Job summary

Sussex Mindfulness Centre (SMC) (https://sussexmindfulnesscentre.nhs.uk/), part of Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, was founded in 2011 and is now one of the leading mindfulness centres in the UK. It stands out through its synergistic development of high-level research, high-quality trainings and the delivery of mindfulness based approaches within the NHS. It provides two mindfulness-based trainings locally, leads a national training in NHS Talking Therapies for Anxiety and Depression services and is the UK host for Mindful Self-Compassion teacher trainings.

This post holder will provide leadership support and training provision with the local SMC trainings, the national MBCT in NHS Talking Therapies, the delivery of staff mindfulness-based groups and compassionate leadership work, supervision groups, leadership on specialist areas of mindfulness provision such as with young people and people with learning disabilities, the promotion of SMC through taster sessions and the provision of leadership and guidance to the team on the development of the SMC EDI agenda. The postholder will also support the delivery of groups and trainings that are part of the SMC research and evaluation programmes. They will be able to fit into the SMC team who work in a friendly, mutually respectful and collaborative way. This post is currently predominantly home working.

Main duties of the job

To provide a professional leadership role for education and training in Sussex Mindfulness Centre (SMC), providing training and business development support for Sussex Mindfulness Centre activities, with a special remit for Equality Diversity and Equality (EDI).

The work will include leadership support and training provision with the local SMC trainings, the national MBCT in NHS Talking Therapies, the delivery of staff mindfulness-based groups and compassionate leadership work, supervision groups, leadership on specialist areas of mindfulness provision such as with young people and people with learning disabilities, the promotion of SMC through taster sessions and the provision of leadership and guidance to the team on the development of the SMC EDI agenda.
