Job summary

We are delighted to advertise for applications from Psychologists (Clinical or Counselling) for this permanent, 1.0 WTE post working within the Eastbourne Working Age community team.

We are seeking an enthusiastic person who has experience and interest in working with people with severe and enduring mental health problems.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide high quality, specialist evidence based psychological therapy to service users - this will include offering assessments, formulation as well as individual, family and carer interventions. We have an established group treatment programme and there will be opportunities to be involved in the delivery and development of groups.

Job responsibilities

You will join a cohesive and supportive team of highly skilled and passionate psychologists and psychological therapists focused on improving choice and outcomes for people with severe and enduring presentations. You will be a valued member of a friendly and experienced MDT that welcomes psychological thinking and collaborative working. We are looking for someone with a strong commitment to team working and service user involvement. As well as providing psychological assessments and treatments, there will be opportunities to inspire others by supporting professional colleagues to develop their psychological thinking; to contribute to staff training and development; and the supervision of Psychology Assistants and Clinical Trainees.

We welcome applications from those who are about to qualify This post would provide an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified Psychologist to develop and embed their skills. There will be opportunities to lead on pathway developments as part of transformation, as such, we would welcome applicants from anyone with a passion for psychosis, trauma, emotional intensity or a particular therapy approach such as CBTp, Family work, CAT or EMDR and can offer a post with protected time focused in a specific area. This is a development post and the post holder will be able to progress from Band 7 to 8a once they can demonstrate 8a competencies.

You will be well supported through specialist supervision and training, this is a great time for career development opportunities. Training and development is highly valued and actively encouraged. You will have the opportunity to grow your specialist interests and expertise in line with service objectives. We would support you to enhance your therapeutic competencies, supervision and leadership skills. We work to ensure that staff are supported by a psychologically safe work environment, with access to a range of staff support services and a culture of learning and reflective practice. In this post, you would be working primarily from the Eastbourne site, a car is not essential as Eastbourne has good transport links and is easily accessible by rail.
