Job summary
We are looking for an innovative and skilled Band 7 Clinical Specialist OT to work within the Specialist Older Adults Service in Brighton and Hove. The Specialist Older Adults' Mental Health Service [ SOAMHS] is a multidisciplinary service, and workswith older people with both functional and complex organic conditions who need secondary service support. The SOAMHS teams have close working relationships with community, acute and urgent care services. There is also a close connection with primary care, third sector organisations and shared packages of support.
Main duties of the job
In your role you will manage a caseload of complex presentations, using evidence based, client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions. Your caseload will be in the west of the city but your OT leadership role will be across the two SOAMHS teams.
You will provide OT assessments, interventions, clinical advice and input for service users with complex presentation and needs. You will be supervising and supporting OT staff within the teams, lead on service developments, implementations and ensure OT contribution to the delivery of quality clinical care and performance standards.
The successful candidate will provide OT leadership to OT staff within the teams promoting high performance and care standards both individually and as a team. You would be responsible for ensuring that the support workers in the service have a supervision structure in place. There will also be an expectation that you would provide team lead cover as needed and offer support to the enhanced duty service.

There will be a requirement to complete social care assessments and mental capacity assessments as needed, and bespoke training will be offered for these aspects of the role.
