Senior Assistant Psychologist - Routine Outcome Measures Project
This job is now closed
Job summary
Are you up for a challenge and want to make a big difference? If you enjoy improving outcomes for children, young people and their families then this could be your dream assistant psychologist job!
We need a well-organised, personable, pragmatic, enthusiastic psychology graduate that can help clinicians in Hampshire CAMHS improve their use of Routine Outcome Measures (ROMs).
While we know from research that using ROMs helps improve intervention outcomes, we nevertheless don't yet have this fully embedded in clinical practice across our service.
That's where you will come in. You will be supported by a clinical and managerial lead to develop supportive ways of enhancing practitioners' understanding and use of ROMs for their clinical practice, and increase the use of ROMs in the service.
This is a vital role, and absolutely central to our service priorities and improvement strategy.
We are investing in this role as it will improve and shape our future delivery for the benefit of the children, young people and families who use our service.
Main duties of the job
This is a brilliant opportunity as it combines a whole service development project with gaining clinical experience.
You will be based in Basingstoke CAMHS and be supervised by a practitioner psychologist.
Your role will involve working with clinicians across our service, both in community team settings, as well as with colleagues working in our Early Help, Crisis and specialist services (e.g. Eating Disorders).
As a service we are committed to improving our use of ROMs to help shape delivery and improve outcomes for young people.
As well as working alongside clinicians, you will work with young people and families using our services, to progress the meaningful adoption and embedding of ROMs in order to make a difference to treatments and outcomes. We have an Innovation and Participation lead who will be able give guidance in taking this direct work with patients and carers forward.
We have an excellent record of our Assistant Psychologists moving onto clinical training, and we have close links with the University of Southampton.
We look forward to receiving your application.
