Job summary

We are looking for Registered Mental Health Nurses to join our ward teams at Mill View Hospitalto work within our experienced night team.

Mill View Hospital has five wards:

  • Regency (Male Acute),
  • Pavilion (Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit)
  • Caburn (Female Acute)
  • Meridian (Older Adult Acute)
  • Brunswick (Dementia)

We also have a Place of Safety attached to the hospital.

On our night shifts you will be supported by a Band 6 Unit Coordinator as well as a Band 7 Duty Senior Nurse. Night team meetings take place monthly and are facilitated by our Clinical Lead Nurse Manager and Lead Consultant Psychologist.

We are passionate about ensuring the Continuous Professional Development of our night team and facilitate training sessions out of hours to ensure parity across our 24/7 service.

Main duties of the job

Working within a supportive clinically led team, you will have the opportunity to really work in partnership with patients - engaging, supporting and developing a relationship which really enables the recovery process.   • To deliver a high standard of evidence based inpatient nursing care in the designated care group in partnership with the team, the service users and where appropriate their family.
  • To act as a primary nurse in the assessment of needs and organising of care.
  • To co-ordinate shifts and provide supervision for support workers and students.
  • To work within a team of nurses and other professionals who are committed to the delivery of a quality service.
  • To take charge of a designated clinical area and deputise as appropriate.
  • To be an active participant in the multi-disciplinary team, formulating care plans and utilising appropriate assessments.
