Job summary

Our Mental Health Trust is seeking committed, positive, compassionate and enthusiastic Band 6 RMNs to work as part of a dedicated team of professionals that provides the highest standards of care and support to people with acute mental health needs.

Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust are a large Mental health trust looking to add RMN's to our Temporary Staff Team (Bank). The Sussex Partnership Bank is a dedicated flexible team providing the highest level of healthcare support across all wards and departments.

This role is based in St. Anne's centre we are the Mental Health Liaison team for the Conquest Hospital. We cover the Emergency department as well as general wards in assessing patients with acute Mental Health presentations & crisis as well as physical health concerns and complaints. It's a great place to learn, hone up your skills and gain experiences as well as confidence in the acute Mental Health area.

Our bank nurses can also support teams across the Trust, in inpatient units as well as community teams so this is the perfect opportunity for anyone who needs a flexible role or who is interested in working within a variety of services.

Main duties of the job

You will work as part of the multi-disciplinary team undertaking assessments of patients with complex mental health needs developing care and recovery plans in collaboration with the patients and their families/carers.

In conjunction with the team, you will assess and manage risks through assessment regularly reviewing and working in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary teams.

You will act as a Primary Nurse providing clinical and managerial leadership on the ward, whilst also supervising junior staff and trainees.

The successful applicant would be expected to work as part of the team undertaking the assessment, care and treatment of patients experiencing an acute mental health crisis, working in a recovery-orientated manner towards the ultimate discharge of the patient.

There will be opportunities to work over a 24/7 rota which includes weekend and bank holidays.
