Job summary

The Trust is looking to appoint two enthusiastic Estates Small works Project Team Leaders to join a busy and dynamic Estates Team within the Estates & Facilities Department. Working across a diverse and complex property portfolio the role would suit a candidate who is looking to progress their career having already gained a minimum of two years' experience working with an Estates team.

Main duties of the job

Applicants should possess a project management and relevant estates qualification plus have experience of engaging with and managing contractors. This role has a variety of duties, but mainly the project management of a variety of small works including refurbishment schemes from inception to completion, with responsibility for health & safety of contractors, programme and financial management, quality and hand-over on completion of each project.

Individuals must be self-motivated, capable of working on their own initiative and have a desire to achieve good quality standards so a meticulous eye for detail is important. Although experience of working within the NHS is not essential the candidate will be required to quickly acquaint themselves with the applicable standards and governance procedures.

About us

The successful applicants will be required to travel to sites across Sussex and parts of Hampshire and any other counties the Trust may operate in so it is essential that they have their own transport, hold a valid UK driving licence and have relevant 'business' insurance cover.

This position will be based at Mill View Hospital Hove, but this may be subject to change in the future.

  • Relevant degree level qualification or diploma level, plus equivalent experience or equivalent management experience
  • Estates related qualification

Knowledge/Experience

Essential

  • experience of managing capital projects
  • Experience of directly managing supply chains and contractors in delivery of capital projects and related works and services
  • Demonstrable working knowledge of a wide range of Estates project documentation and procedures
  • Experience and evidence of supporting or leading on a project
  • Experience of performance monitoring and supporting contractors and suppliers continuous improvement
  • Experience of financial and physical resource management.
  • Experience of health and safety procedures including, ligature reduction, Risk Assessments, Method Statements, Legionella, COSHH, Fire safety and First Aid
