An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 7 clinician to join our team for a 12 month secondment/ fixed term contract.
The post holder must be a passionate, knowledgeable and dynamic Practitioner who will work as part of Family Eating Disorder Service (SFEDS) Paediatric Liaison and our Home Intervention Team. SFEDS works with young people aged 10-18 with Anorexia Nervosa/ Bulimia Nervosa and Atypical Anorexia Nervosa and their families. The service supports recovery through Evidence Based Interventions such as Maudsley Family Therapy models, group work, and E-CBT.
You will be joining a service of highly skilled and experienced Family and Systemic Psychotherapists, Psychiatry, Paediatrician, Clinical Psychology and Assistant Psychologists, Nurses, Support Workers, Occupational Therapy, Dietitian, and Social Workers with support from our administration team.
Our team is responsible for covering all of Sussex, with our base site currently being situated in Crawley Down. We are currently reviewing the service model and identifying ways of working more efficiently to improve the experience of the young Person and their families/ carers.

Main duties of the job
The role of our Paediatric Liaison team is to reduce length of stay and facilitate safe discharge once physical health needs have been addressed. The role requires Multiagency working as well as sign posting and referral onto other services.
You will provide advice and consultation on appropriate mental health care planning to support a holistic care and discharge plan (including risk and safety) to acute care colleagues as a liaison function for young people with eating disorders that are admitted to acute paediatric wards. Training relevant to your post will be offered.
Our Home Intervention Team work closely with Young People and their families in the home that require additional support to prevent admission, or to facilitate early discharge. You will monitor physical health and escalate any concerns, you will support the YP and family with reviewing current meal plans and adapting these to support the Young Person towards recovery.

- Comfortable in providing consultation to colleagues, and intervention and treatment for young people with eating disorders

- Be able to travel across the county to provide care and treatment in the home, or in the acute hospital setting.
Although not essential, it would be beneficial if you have:
- Experience within CAMHS and an Eating Disorders team/ service
SPFT staff have the capacity to work from home remotely where applicable and in agreement with your line manager. However, you are expected to work on site 70% of your working week.
Flexible & part time hours/ job shares can be considered in line with the organisations Flexible Working Hours policy Minimum 22.5 hrs per week.
MAIN DUTIES
