Community Mental Health Nurse

Information:

This job is now closed

Job summary

Millwood Assessment and Treatment Service in Uckfield is part of a lively multi-disciplinary service for adults with severe mental illness. The service sits within the beautiful landscape of the South Downs National Park and the High Weald. Uckfield has direct train links to London and is an easy commute from Eastbourne or Brighton.

We don't do 'conveyer-belt' therapy. As a Community Mental Health Nurse in our secondary level service you will be focussed on improving outcomes for service users by working creatively with them and their carers to co-create care and risk plans that will help them achieve their goals and live as independently as possible. As well as maintaining high standards of clinical care and ensuring patient safety, the key to success in this role is often about building effective partnerships with GPs, Crisis services, housing and other third sector providers, as well as making good use of our more specialist services, such as our Early intervention in Psychosis or Eating disorder services.

We are keen to offer development posts to newly qualified nurses who we guarantee progression from band 5 to 6 upon successful completion of our preceptorship programme.

Main duties of the job

To be successful as a nurse at Millwood ATS you will be:

  • A Registered Nurse (including newly qualified)
  • Excellent at forming relationships with our partners
  • A service-user focussed practitioner

It would also be advantageous if you have:

  • Experience working with adults with severe mental illness

About us

Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust places a huge focus on the wellbeing of our staff, as well as ensuring our reward packages reflect the immensely important work they do.

As a nurse in our team we can offer you:

  • Access to numerous wellbeing and support programmes, run by our internal wellbeing team
  • Excellent supervision programmes, with ongoing opportunities for training and development
  • Flexible working patterns
  • Access to a host of discount schemes (including gyms, shopping, restaurants and cars)
  • A position within a trust rated as 'Outstanding' for caring and 'Good' overall by the CQC
  • Generous holiday entitlement (starting at 27 days + 8 bank holidays)
  • A 'Golden Hello' or relocation package of up to £2000 (see attached documentation)

If you are looking for the opportunity to work within a busy but rewarding Assessment and Treatment service in the heart of The South Downs, then we would love to hear from you!
