Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust (LSCFT) Adult Learning Disability Services are looking to recruit a new Occupational Therapist to join our Intensive Support Team.
Through continued investment in our services, we are pleased to offer a Band 7 Occupational Therapy post within the learning disability intensive support team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to progress your career and further develop specialist skills in working with adults with learning disabilities and complex needs.
This post sits within Adult Learning Disability Services and will work closely with both the Community Learning Disability Team (CLDT) and the inpatient hospitals, specifically, Watermeadow View.
We are seeking an Occupational Therapist who is adaptable, highly motivated, and passionate about improving outcomes for people with learning disabilities and their families. You will have excellent communication skills and experience of working with individuals with complex needs, risk and behavioural distress.
The post holder will work as part of a multi disciplinary team, providing specialist Occupational Therapy assessment, formulation and evidence based interventions to adults with learning disabilities, their families and carers.
Main duties of the job
Working in the Intensive Support Team, this post is responsible for delivering specialist Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention across Lancashire & South Cumbria for people with Learning Disabilities. The post holder will be responsible for the assessment, treatment, planning, delivery and evaluation of evidence-based occupational therapy interventions, to people with learning disability, mental illness and behaviours of concern.

- -Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy
- -Current professional registration with HPC as Occupational Therapist and responsibility for maintaining this registration
- -Masters module/post grad qualification in relevant field of clinical expertise (or working towards) / post-grad qualification/equivalent knowledge & experience to masters level
- -Evidence of CPD in related field of clinical expertise.
- -Current accredited field work educator.

- -Understanding of clinical governance framework and implications for practice including audit and research governance.
