Job summary

An opportunity has arisen to join the Greater Preston Community Young People's Mental Health (CYPMH) team as a CBT Practitioner. Working to deliver Mental Health Care to the highest possible standard, applications are invited from experienced nurses to take on the challenging role of Team Leader.

We currently require a practitioner with previous experience who have recent, significant experience of working within a CYPMH team. All applicants must have an interest and skills in psychological approaches to working with clients and have a commitment to working collaboratively with clients who may present challenges for engagement. We are keen to hear from this candidates who are able to provide supervision to the other CBT therapists in the team.

Main duties of the job

To undertake thorough initial assessments of new referrals. This includes the gathering of appropriate information from the child and family and from other professionals /agencies.

Following assessment, in conjunction with the child and family when appropriate to derive a clinical formulation and treatment plan and communicate this in writing to the referrer and other professions within limits of confidentiality.

To take a role in the delivery of high-quality CBT service provision that promotes and improves the mental health and well-being of children and young people, their families and carers.

Within a systemic and holistic framework, undertake needs led, evidence based, highly skilled assessments and therapeutic interventions in relation to CBT to children and young people, their families and carers, who present to the service, including as a result of deliberate self-harm.

As part of CAMHS service actively liaise and support robust partnership working arrangements between the Team and community partners and other key stakeholders involved with the child across agencies in order that an integrated package of care is developed.
