Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in this recently opened service. We are looking for a full time, Band 6 Deputy Team Leader. The postholder will support the Team Leader to provide clinical leadership and first line management for The Specialist Perinatal Community Mental Health Team, working within East Lancashire and Blackburn with Darwen.
The SPCMHT aspires to provide an excellent comprehensive Perinatal Mental Health Service for the women of Lancashire and South Cumbria. We deliver a sustainable and resilient solution for women suffering from a mental illness in the perinatal period by focusing on improving outcomes for them, their infant and their families. We do this by effective multidisciplinary integrated team working and ensuring effective prevention that responds to local need by:
o Intervening earlier to at preconception, during pregnancy and up to 2 years following deliveryo On-going training of professionals from multiple disciplineso Improving pathways and processes for mothers, their families and professionalso Delivering a multi-disciplinary specialist perinatal mental health service to woman who present with severe/complex mental health needs, in accordance with CR197 staffing recommendations and delivery of NICE recommended intervention.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work with the Team Leader and other senior clinicians, supporting the delivery of a high quality and high performing team to a defined population
To ensure that staff in the team have opportunities for continuing professional development, in order to provide best practice and meet the requirements of registering bodies, and to drive improvements in standards of clinical practice and patient care in line with the NHS modernisation and Public Health agendas
To provide direct clinical care to patients
To work with senior clinicians to actively lead in the delivery of the clinical governance, quality improvement and performance management agenda within an identified locality team
