The Integrated CYPMHS/Child Psychology Teams across Lancashire and South Cumbria have undergone significant changes.As part of this change we are now looking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed Senior CYPMH Practitioner to work within CYPMH/Child psychology Lancaster and Morecambe with a focus on timely access to services and flow through the CYPMH services.

We work with children, young people and families up to the age of 18 years presenting with a wide range of moderate to severe, emotional and mental difficulties. Experience of working with children and young people with mental health difficulties would be essential.

We are committed to ongoing continuous professional development of our staff and as a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to be involved in various training initiatives, including CYP IAPT.

Main duties of the job

You will support the front door part of the CYPMH/Child Psychology service by screening referrals both routine and urgent, offer triage and signpost to make sure children and young people are accessing the right services in a timely manner.

Alongside triaging you will also provide duty cover, allowing families, professionals the opportunity for timely advice and guidance regarding suitable local services, urgent/crisis advice, and referral advice.

Applications are invited from Registered Nurses, Social Workers and Occupational Therapists who have experience of working with young people experiencing mental health issues. The post is full time (37.5 hours) The post is subject to enhanced DBS clearance.

Education/ Qualifications

Essential

  • First level qualification, RMN or equivalent such as CQSW or occupational therapy
  • Information technology skills sufficient to the undertaking of the post

Knowledge

  • An ability to think systemically and holistically
  • Demonstrable Knowledge and skills in evidence based needs led assessments, of highly complex and co-morbid presentations of children, young people, their families and carers
