We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Specialist Nurse Practitioner (CYP) to join our multi disciplinary service supporting children, young people and their families.

Role SummaryThis is a Band 6 developmental role designed to support your progression into an advanced clinical post. On successful completion of Non Medical Prescribing (NMP) competencies, the post will progress to Band 7.

Main duties of the job

To work as part of a multi-disciplinary team:-

o To take a leadership role in the delivery of high quality service provision that promotes and improves the mental health and well-being of young people, their families and carers.

o NMP Development post - Band 6 to Band 7; dependant upon successful completion of NMP competencies

o Within a systemic and holistic framework undertake needs led, evidence based, highly skilled assessments and therapeutic interventions to young people, their families and carers, who present to the service, including as a result of deliberate self-harm.

o As part of an integrated CYP service actively liaise and support robust partnership workingarrangements between the CAMHS and Adult Mental Health services and community partners and other key stakeholders involved with the child across agencies in order that an integrated package of care is developed.

o Provide a high level of generic skills and competencies and work towards development of areas of clinical expertise within the field of children's mental health including ND complimenting other members of the team.

o To provide clinical leadership and consultation to a skill mixed team to facilitate a culture of learning and reflective practice.

o To work in collaboration with the (service manager / team leader) to support the clinical governance / public health and NHS modernisation agenda.

Qualifications

Essential

  • First level nursing qualification, RMN or equivalent
  • Independent & Supplementary Nurse Prescribing V300 must be completed as part of the development post if not already a qualification held.
  • Information technology skills sufficient to the undertaking of the post

  • An ability to think systemically and holistically Demonstrable knowledge and skills in evidence based needs led assessments, of highly complex and co-morbid presentations of children, young people, their families and carers.
