Job summary

The Community and Wellbeing network are able to offer an exciting opportunity for a band 5 registered nurse to work within the Central Lancashire Moving Well service. The post is primarily based at the Minerva Health Centre and our satellite clinic at Chorley. The main purpose of this post is to support the running of our rheumatology outpatient service, administration of intravenous medications which are used to treat various rheumatological conditions and support our blood monitoring service for patients with various rheumatological conditions. You will work alongside our wider MDT including consultants, specialist nurses, AHPs HCAs and admin staff.

It is essential that candidates can independently travel between sites to fulfil the duties of the post.

Phlebotomy skills are essential as part of the role.

You will also need an enthusiasm for working with patients with complex long-term conditions.

The post is covering Maternity Leave and is Monday - Friday excluding bank holidays.

Main duties of the job

Undertake responsibility for the care of patients accessing the service under the supervision of Specialist Consultants, Nursing Staff and other Health Care professionals. Carry out initial assessment of care needs and the provision and evaluation of individual patient programmes of care including those patients attending for a variety of clinic appointments, rheumatology infusions and blood monitoring.

The post holder will be required to work in diverse environments away from the main area and not directly supervised but will be under the guidance of a Senior Nurse.
