Specialty Doctor, General Adult Inpatients - Chorley (10 PA)

We are excited to advertise this new Specialty Doctor post in General Adult Psychiatry, based at the Charnock Inpatient Unit at Chorley and South Ribble Hospital. The post is full time (10 PAs) and fixed term for 12-months initially.

This position includes management of the patients detained in the 136 unit in Chorley.

Main duties of the job

The main duty of this post is to provide medical input to the General Adult wards at the Charnock Inpatient Unit, which will include direct care as well as advice/consultancy for other members of the team. You will be supported by a Consultant Psychiatrist. The role would include participating in the senior medical cover and MHA assessments for referrals to the Section 136 suite at Chorley and South Ribble Hospital.

The role will include 8 PAs for Direct Clinical Care and will provide an excellent experience for those pursuing AC accreditation.

About us

To be eligible to apply for this post, you must possess at least 3 year's experience in psychiatry and be fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practice. Ideally, you will be Section 12 Approved, or eligible for approval at the time of commencing employment.
