Job summary
We are looking for an innovative and enthusiastic clinical psychologist to work within a busy and well respected Community Learning Disability Team.
This part-time post is based in the Chorley & South Ribble team however the post holder will be expected to work across the Central Locality, covering Greater Preston, Chorley & South Ribble and West Lancashire (Ormskirk base). Previous experience of working with adults with Learning Disabilities is essential. Main duties of the job
In the Central locality, you will make a major contribution to the service and take a clinical lead role within the Chorley & South Ribble team. You will be expected to provide psychological assessment and intervention in a variety of settings and provide consultation, training and supervision to the wider MDT on the psychological care of adults with a Learning Disability. As an 8b you will also have the opportunity to participate in clinical leadership and service development activities. There may also be opportunities for service related research and development
You will receive regular clinical & professional supervision from a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and you will also benefit from being a member of the Learning Disability Psychology Specialty as well as the wider Psychological Professions Community within the Trust.
The Trust has close links with the Lancaster University Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and provides placements for trainees from Lancaster, Manchester and Liverpool. There is an expectation that you would be in a position to supervise a Trainee if approached.
